This AIC provides notification to Aircraft Operators, Airports and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) concerning the NDB/L infrastructure, operated by skeyes. The NDBs and locators will be withdrawn from the AIP from Q2/2023 except at EBOS where the withdrawal will take place from Q4/2024.
According the PBN IR (EU Regulation 2018/1048), and as described in the Belgian PBN Implementation and Transition Plan 2024-2030, NDBs and locators no longer play a role in a PBN environment. The current NDB/L infrastructure reaches the end of its life cycle. It is chosen not to renew and to decommission the NDB/L infrastructure.
Conventional procedures partly relying on NDBs or locators will be redesigned into PBN procedures. Where possible, the NDB or locator will be replaced by a waypoint. The waypoint is part of an RNAV1/RNP1 and/or RNP APCH procedures. Conventional procedures relying solely on NDBs and locators will be withdrawn (EBOS NDB RWY26 and L RWY08).
Withdrawal of following NDBs and Locators from the AIP:
