Q 1: Can I modify (delay, cancel or move forward) a FPL that I have submitted via the skeyes website ?
A: For the moment it is not yet possible for a user to make any change to his/her FPLs via the website. Any change should be made by calling the skeyes ARO office (+32 2 206 25 40). The tabsheet ‘FPL Related Messages' is only intended for ARO staff and aeronautical authorities.

Q 2: Why can I not submit a flight for which neither the departure nor the destination is within EBBU boundaries ?
A: Processing flight plans that have neither departure nor destination aerodrome in the Brussels FIR, falls outside the responsibility of skeyes as the public air navigation service provider for Belgium. Such flight plans should be filed at the local ARO responsible for the departure or destination aerodrome of the flight.

Q 3: Do I need to submit a FPL before being able to retrieve a Narrow Route PIB ?
A: If you have already submitted a FPL that has been validated by Brussels ARO (+32 2 206 25 40), you will be able to retrieve a narrow route PIB by entering only the call sign of your FPL in the ‘Call sign' field of the Narrow Route PIB form. If you have not yet submitted your FPL, you will have to fill in the fields ‘Departure', ‘Destination' and ‘Route' of the same form to retrieve a narrow route PIB.

Q 4: I have logged into the skeyes website and have access to the FPL page. However when I click on ‘Narrow Route' I have to re-enter my credentials again. Why?
A: The Narrow Route form – together with the ‘Handler Briefing' page – is a special application that was developed for airlines and handling companies. However any private pilot having received ‘Flight Briefing' privilege may also use it using his/her usual login/password.

Q 5: I am a flight simulator user and I have requested Flight Briefing access when registering, but the page ATIS remains not accessible to me.
A: Specific Flight Briefing and Meteo Access are given only to users that have a relation with the aeronautical community. The eAIP is however free of use for the general public. Feel free to consult it.

Q 6: Why is it not possible to filter NOTAM in the NOTAM Summary ?
A: The purpose of the NOTAM Summary is to inform the user of all valid NOTAM as prescribed by ICAO document 8126, paragraph 5.2.8.3. It is not a list of NOTAM effective at the time of consultation. The latter is more the object of PIBs (Pre-flight Information Bulletin), which allow filtering based on specific criteria such as time, aerodrome, FIR, destination and/or departure.

Q 7: The page with the Daily Warnings in PDF shows all NOTAM on the chart with the text details in a yellow rectangle. Can I deactivate the display of the NOTAM text on the chart ?
A: The Daily Warnings Chart in PDF format can only be viewed correctly if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed, not with an Adobe plugin of your browser. Hence it will not be viewed properly on most Smartphones/Tablets. However the newly available Interactive chart with the daily warnings should meet your requirements.

Q 8: My flight is in two days' time. PIBs can only be retrieved for a time span extending to 24 hours. How can I retrieve NOTAM for my flight ?
A: For security reasons, pilots should always consult NOTAM for their flight at a time as close as possible to the flight. NOTAM are published and updated very regularly and it is not advisable to retrieve PIBs more that 24 hours before a flight. However, if needed such a PIBs may be obtained by calling the ARO office (+32 2 206 2540).

Q 9: Why does skeyes not provide more ‘international' information ?
A: skeyes provides PIBs – i.e. NOTAM lists based on specific filtering criteria – with worldwide coverage. But foreign AIPs are under the responsibility of the countries publishing them. It is not the role of skeyes to decide whether those AIPs should be made available via the internet, or to be a substitute to their authority. Eurocontrol however provides a list of web links to AIM services around the world: http://www.eurocontrol.int/articles/ais-online
